Re: When will the Adobe Flash player become available on iPad / iPhone?

Flash on mobile died due to the large numbers of ios users, outnumbering android users on the web, who do not have or use flash.

People voted no to flash by buying the large number of iPads, not android tablets who had big neon flashing stickers trumpeting flash support.

The votes were cast, counted-flash lost.

Adobe conceded defeat, the rest of us have moved on-including google.

Clear enough for you?

iOS 6.1 Updating Crashing (Adobe Built) Newsstand Apps

Hello,

Wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing this problem.  I updated to iOS 6 last night and everything appeared to go smooth.  Today, when I attempted to read Men's Health offline, I get the splash screen, and then the app crashes.  I noticed the same with any Magazine app that was built on the Adobe platform.  GQ, Wired, Men's Health, Fast Company Bon App......All get to the splash page, then it crashes back to the homescreen.

When I am connected to WIFI I am able to access the apps and all previously downloaded content with no issues.  I exclusivly read most of my downloaded magazine content offline so this is quite the problem for me.  I also tried numerous fixes with no luck - soft restarted iPad, Hard restarted iPad, tried leaving the issue/app open when going offline......all have still produced crashing  the app when I am not on wifi.

I'd rather not, but is there anything else I should try before trying to reset the entire ipad for a clean set up?  Anyone else experiencing this?

Why doesn't iPad allow adobe flash player?

Why does Mac support Adobe Flash Player, but iPad doesn't? And are they working on compatibility?

Why doesn't iPad allow adobe flash player?

iPads and Mac computers are different hardware and software platforms.

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods

Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.

Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.

So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.

Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.

Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash. Adobe is not providing Flash for Apple iOS devices, and they no longer provide Flash for any other cellular phones. Flash is officially gone.

Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.

A sample of Apps that can display some Flash content:

  1. Puffin

  2. SkyFire

  3. Photon Flash

  4. Browse2Go

  5. Swifter

Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

Opening adobe mail attachments

Previously I could open mail attachments in adobe reader by clicking on them.

In particular, this was the case with adobe portfolios.

Suddenly this has stopped working, and all I get is an inactive box saying "Get Adobe reader" embedded in the e-mail.

This stops me from using my ipad for one of the main uses for which I bought it.

How do I get adobe flash player on my iPad

You don't.

None exists and adobe has abandoned mobile flash for all devices.

You can download browsers that claim to playback flash content.

Puffin, photon, skyfire, iswifter, etc.

Trying to use Dish online to stream movies, but need Adobe Flash Drive, help?

There is no such thing as adobe flash drive.

If you mean flash player-there is not now nor will there ever be a version of flash player for iOS.

Adobe has abandoned flash for all mobile devices.

Check the App Store to see if dish offers an app or download a third party browser that claims to offer flash support-iswifter, sky fire, photon, etc.
