I downloaded something in safari

I have an app gba4ios and nds4ios emulators from safari. I downloaded a ROM from safari to play on nds4ios. I tapped the download many times, and i waited for it. I tapped open in nds4ios but it wont. So i just deleted the nds4ios app. I checked my usage in settings and i saw it was only 264 mb, it 1.3 Gb back then. It has eaten almost 1 gigabytes. How do i delete that ROM? Pls. I need a solution. Is there anything like file explorer?

How do I stop safari pop ups?

Every now and then I get a pop up in safari on my ipad, just a small box saying:

http://topappleapp.info

Top Apple games

Free download now, the last day!

The only option I have from here is to click ok, which then redirects me to the App Store to a Bingo Bash app. I Anzac obviously just close this and go back to safari, but the website I was on then disappears and say 'Loading, please wait' but nothing loads. Refreshing doesn't help, neither does the back button.

This has always happened on the same website as far as I can remember - just a site I use for recipes called onegreenplanet.org. I have used this website so many times without any problems, but it is very frustrating when this happens.

I have turned on the 'block pop ups' (which was actually already on when this was happening), cleared history and cookies, then restarted but still get the pop up. Any ideas???

Safari is constantly redirecting me to either a porn page or the App store. Please help!

I am having problems with Safari redirecting me to either a **** page or to the App store (when I go back to the browser the following url is in the address bar: c.mobpartner.mobi./?s=511297. The **** pages change every couple of days)

This only happens from www.guardian.co.uk (so far). It started a week ago. It happens automatically – I don’t touch the screen or click on adverts. It happens every time I go the site, and at any time of day.  I am running IoS 6.1.3. JavaScript is on. The pop-up blocker is on. I have cleared the cookies and the history. I have been to Settings>Safari>Advanced>Website Data and cleared that. I still get the redirects. What can I do now?

(with apologies if the answer is already on the forum and I was using the wrong search terms)

Safari may have a virus

Just tonight I have the never before seen symptom of a browser hijack. Queries to Google end up on a Yahoo! Page. I have seen this before on MS machines, but never IOS.

Re: Safari is constantly redirecting me to either a porn page or the App store. Please help!

thank you Demo for posting a reply so quickly.

I looked at the Thomas A Reed's instructions. If I understand corectly, his solution is to install FamiyShield OpenDNS from the Internet Safety Project. I'm not sure how this would protect against a redirect to the App store, which isn't **** related.

The page he links to also says: "You cannot change the DNS without jailbreaking you mobile device." I don't want to jailbreak my iPad and shag up the warranty.

Even if this doesn't involve jailbreaking, it seems as if this solution will mask the results of the redirect rather than addressing the underlying problem.

Is there an alternative?

IPad Redirecting in Safari AFTER restore - JAVA issue?

Hi All,

I seem to be having a similar problem to the person in this thread

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4979675?start=0&tstart=0

but have escalated to a main discussion topic as it seems particularly annoying. I am unable to use a particular website from Safari on my iPad4 (iOS 6.1.3) - the website is www.guardian.co.uk (and subdirectories). When I select from bookmark the site is directed to mobile.juicyads.com and then finds it way c.mobpartner.mobi before sending me to App store for a particular game advert.

Happened before and i deleted all web history/cleared cache etc and this worked. NOW, however the clearing of cache does nothing. I have tried restore to backup and restore as new iPad - neither of which have addressed the situation.

I have also tried Chrome browser on iPad and this was redirected too.

There is a solution in that if I turn JAVA OFF then the redirect doesn't happen.

Is there anything else I haven't tried and does anyone actually know what the "infection" or problem actually is.

Thanks

iPad Safari crashing regularly

Safari on my iPad is crashing fairly frequently; sometimes when I restart it retains the pages that were previously open, and sometimes not.

Have not yet established a pattern, but it seems prevalent on very large pages (for example pages with many images) and on pages with embedded video (particularly Flash).

Anyone else experiencing the same issue and/or have any further information? Anybody using a browser other than Safari on the iPad?

Re: iPad Safari crashing regularly

Apple does not provide technical support through thes user-to-user forums, which are maintained solely to allow us (customers) to share information about common problems. If you have tech support needs, you have to do what all of us here do -- call Apple directly -- or log into their support Web page, describe your problem and have a support technician call you right back.

We own a fair amount of Apple gear (three Macs, four iOS devices, network devices) purchased on a staggered schedule. Consequently, we regularly seem to purchase or upgrade some network device or computer every couple of years or so. Therefore, we always have some device covered under an extended warranty, which keeps us qualified for free tech support calls. And we DO routinely purchase Apple's extended warranty too, and always try to purchase network gear (Airport, Airport Express, Time Capsule) on the same invoice as a new Mac or iOS device. That way, the extended warranty purchased for the computer also covers the network device (a welcomed gesture on Apple's part).

The extended warranties are worth their weight in gold when a tech support issue arises.

I also encountered the frustrating crashing iPad 1 issue after upgrading to iOS 5x. I reformatted the machine and manually re-installed all the software from scratch (not a backup) and the problem never reappeared. I then gifted the same iPad 1 to my sister, who's happily been using it for over a year without serious problems or a single complaint, though she says she does encounter an occasional crash.

I think the random but fairly widespread occurrence of this problem is caused by some combination of multiple factors, including iOS version, iOS upgrade path, ISP reliability (upgrade downloads can get partiallly corrupted), maintenance and reliability habits, Web pages visited, etc. Personally, I believe Apple may have under-engineered the iPad 1, which only has 256MB of memory. It was a groundbreaking device, but with the iPhone and iPod touch, caused an explosion in the advancement and use of increasingly complex Apps and HTML5 Web pages. Apple may not have adequately projected how quickly it's mobile technology would change computing.

Safari 15 second page loads on 50Mbps service?

I'm at a loss - tried all of the tweaks I could think of/read about prior to a complete reset, that did not work.  Finally gave up and backed everything up in iTunes and restored (not from backup - fresh install, set up as new iPad).  No improvement.  Safari pages start to load but take approx 15 seconds to complete.  Ridiculous!  I have an iPad 1 with updated OS, 50Mbps service that tests at 25-30Mbps over wireless, minimal apps installed, 26GB free space, cannot understand why the performance is so bad (was not always like this - happened after last couple/few OS upgrades).  In addition to Safari, other things seem a bit buggy - keyboard and screen swipes sometimes a tad erratic.

Any suggestions on what I can do aside from ditching this thing for a non-Apple device?

BTW- even though I backed up before resetting, it looks like my non-iTunes purchases like books from B&N are gone.  Can't locate photos that were backed up from iPad to MacBook Pro.  Anyone have suggestions on where these might be found?  Not seeing them via iTunes or Finder.

Thanks in advance,

M

Safari crashes on iPad 2

I have a 2 year old IPad 2, still on iOS 4.3.3, and recently Safari has started to crash, or won't open at all.  Yesterday app store and iTunes were doing same.  Today, managed to open them, but mail has started to crash!  I've tried resetting (shutting down), cleared Cache and cookies, and no difference. I know it's not my Internet connection as my sky fire browser works fine.  Can anyone advise please?

Safari crashes everytime on iPad 2?

My iPad 2 has been working perfectly for the couple years I've had it, until this week.  It started where I couldn't open the App Store, then iTunes. I thought it could be just a glitch, but now none of these apps will open:

  • iTunes
  • App Store
  • Videos
  • Safari

The Safari is a big thing for me, I need to be able to go on it. I'm not sure what iOS it has or anything... And yes, I am connected to the internet (my other apps that use it work fine), but when I go to open Safari (or any of the above apps) it will open, show a blank page for a few seconds, then crash right away. Everytime.

I've tried restarting it multiple times, getting rid of the background apps (hitting home button twice) clearing history, cookies, etc; and even deleted a ton of apps to try to free up memory, but NOTHING has worked. Please help. How can I get these programs to start working again?

Why won't Safari show Skydrive pdf files under ios 6

Like a number of others, I posted on the MS Skydrive forum

viz: I notice that when I try to access the pdf files on my skydrive, there will be an error message written as follows "Unable to display "my_pdf_file_name" in this browser. Check your browser settings to see if you have a PDF plugin installed and enabled. If you have a PDF viewing application, you can download the file and open it from your computer" However, when i click download, nothing happens.

I have to share a set of documents via Skydrive and the email link I send opens safari (Ios 6) and bingo! The pdf files cannot be opened and nor do they download.

The response form Microsoft is:

After testing it has been found that the cause of this is the way Safari handles 3rd party cookies. This is not an issue with SkyDrive but instead Safari iteslf. Other websites have the PDF as an attachment allowing it to just open, where SkyDrive has security that must be passed. Safari is not allowing this cookie/script to run and preventing. So, this will need to be an Apple resolution.

Can someone at Apple resolve this or come up with a sensible workaround please?

Pete
