Re: ipad restore now wants password

Your scenario description sounds strongly like you are being asked for the backup encryption password.  If you cannot remember it, these paragraphs apply:

______________

Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.

If you cannot remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore, choose set up as a new device.

Restore ipad not enough space

Hi,

I made an itunes backup of my ipad, but now itunes doesn't want to restore it!

I always get an error saying it couldn't restore, because there isn't enough space available on the COMPUTER.

The computer I backed the ipad up to, has a 40gb hdd. The backup is about 20gb. I think itunes first makes temporary files in order to restore. But i can't manage to get enough space free, i have about 10gb free.

I tried putting it on an external hdd to restore on another computer, but it always says it couldn't copy some of the files. The drive i used is fat32. Could that be the problem, altough when looking through the backup, there isn't any file bigger than 3gb? I'm trying to get an ntfs drive and see if i can copy it to that drive. If not, how can i recover my files?

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the bad english.

Re: If all of my bookmarks were accidentally erased , how do I restore them?

Try this:

1. Double-click the Home button to reveal the Task Bar

2. Hold the Safari app down for a second or two until you see the minus sign

3. Tap the minus sign to close Safari

4. Re-launch and test Safari

Re: I have forgotten m password for my iPad but I dont want to restore it. What do I do?

You have to tell us when it backs up. We don't know what you are using to backup - iTunes or iCloud.

Chances are, if you have to ask, you probably aren't backing up or you would know the answer to your own question. But if you are backing up with iCloud, the iPad should backup when it is locked, connected to WiFi and connected to power. If you use iTunes, the backups occur when you sync with iTunes.

You have to restore the iPad if you forgot the passcode. You can't restore from a backup without unlocking the iPad. So that doesn't apply to your case anyway.
