I have purchased ads lightning card reader and connected to my iPad as per instructions but I am not seeing the phiotos from my Kodak such card. According to the instructions the photo pane should open when reader connected but it doesn't - am I doing so

My Lightning to SD card camera reader can read photos from the SD card but won't import them to the iPad. What can I do?
Can someone please tell me why my SD card reader won't import pictures to my iPas? Thank You!

BTW - I also figured out that bringing my photos into the iPad from my PC via iTunes is going to be waaaayy easier and doesn't require any sort of renaming of the files in order to make them transfer to or work on the iPad. It does seem to mean that you can't really change/reorganize the albums or photos much if at all on the iPad if you do it through iTunes that way, since they seem to make you do all that work on your PC instead. But, since the real desire was to get the photos onto the iPad to look at them rather than to mess with them, that turns out not to be a big deal.
Of course, it means that the SD card reader/adapter was pretty much a waste of money under the circumstances, but I guess maybe it could come in handy on trips or something where we might want to get the photos directly onto the iPad from a camera while we're away from the PC that has the iTunes setup on it.
