Why can't Apple TV's and iOS devices see home sharing on my Windows 7 computer when iTunes libraries on other computers on the same network and connected to the same Home Sharing can?

I have never previously had any problems with Home Sharing, I have always found it to be completely reliable as advertised. I have 2 computers in the house, (one MacBook and one Windows Desktop) connected to the same Home Sharing account, connected to the same BT Home Hub 4. My situation is that I have nearly 2TB of data of which I would like to share with the home wirelessly, in my mind the desktop is the logical place for this to be shared from.

When running, iTunes on this desktop broadcasts to other iTunes libraries, but no other iOS devices or Apple TV's connected to the same Home Sharing account cannot see it.

I have tried turning Home Sharing off, and then turning it back on, closing iTunes, restarting the computer, going to Network and Sharing Centre and unticking IPv6 in the network adapter properties, even completely wiping the computer and reinstalling Windows 7.

One of the Apple TV's in the house was recently purchased by my parents with the promise from me that everything would work seamlessly... so far it isn't and I am frustrated that the Apple technology that I have come to rely on isn't working as expected.

One thing that has occurred to me upon writing this is that it is a very large amount of data, and I have not attempted to share this with another computer that is currently working and broadcasting it's Home Share fine.

I am sorry if I have ommitted any important details, any further questions don't hesitate to ask. I would be so grateful of any suggestions, my parents are depending on me.

The 'Shared' button has disappeared from the Libraries of all of my iOS devices

I've been using Home Sharing for all of my iOS devices for a whole now. In the last few days it suddenly stopped working. I don't see the 'Shared' tab on any of my devices anymore. I've re-started my devices, signed out of home sharing then signed in again, and still nothing. What can I o to fix this?

iPad Operating System and iTunes libraries consolidation

Two missions: First trying to consolidate multiple libraries within my family.  Have iTunes on laptop (windows xp) with 55GB of music on it which is sync'ed with sons iPod and my iPod.  Also have a iPad which my husband has bought a good amount of music on.  Will I lose all of his purchases if I sync the iPad with my iTunes library?  Should I burn CD's from his iPad (can you do this) then reimport them into my iTunes library??

Second mission:  Because the iPad is older it needs a upgrade to the operating system and the only way I understand this can be done is through a sync with iTunes (newer versions allow this to be done on the iPad itself).  It has never been connected to a computer.

THANKS Techie folks!!

Cannot see shared libraries

I have a 1st gen iPad (ipad1) running iOS 5.1.1

Ipad1 is connected to iTunes 11.0.1.12 on my windows 32 bit laptop (laptop1) using my Apple ID (ID1)

I have just bought a new iPad retina (ipad2) running iOS 6.0.1 for my partner

Ipad2 is connected to ITunes 11.0.1.12 on my partners' windows 32 bit laptop (laptop2) using his Apple ID (ID2)

We want to share content, including apps, books, films and music so we tried to set up home sharing over our wireless Internet home network

We have authorised ID1 and ID2 on both laptop1 and laptop2

We have set up home sharing using ID2 on both laptop1 and laptop2

Both laptops have the firewalls switched off

But we still cannot see each other's libraries on iTunes on laptop1 and laptop2

We have tried rebooting, shutting down and reopening iTunes, turning home sharing off and on etc. but still cannot get it to work and it is driving us mad. Many posts suggested this was a problem with iTunes 11 so we even tried reverting to iTunes 10.3.1 and still could not see each others libraries.

Could someone please help!
