Updates and downloading help!

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

How much available storage space do you have?

Check at Settings>General>About>Available

? Cheers, Tom

App Store update tab won't show or allow updates on iPad but will on iPhone?

Our iPad mini or iPad 2 won't show the updates for the apps. It will show the number of updates available but when you select it won't open. It will open all the other tabs however, I.e. purchased, features, etc.

all of my apps are crashing on iPad 2. Is anyone else seeing this? I am using iOS 4.3, but have had so many problems with iTunes updates, I am hesitant to update.

The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:

Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...

Restart / Reset

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

Backing up, Updating and Restoring

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...

Be sure to make an appointment first...

App I don't own appears in updates - won't go away

For a couple of weeks now, an app I don't own has shown up as an update in the App Store on my iPad (iPad 2, iOS 6.0.1). The app in question is MotionX GPS Drive. I have never purchased it, nor to my knowledge has anyone given it to me as a gift. If I try to update it, an error dialog appears with the message "You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software." Also, when there are other updates I can't use the "Update All" button, as this error stops the others as well (I can, however update them with individual buttons). I've attached a screen shot for reference.

Rebooting the iPad has no effect. Signing out and in of the App Store has no effect. The update does not appear in iTunes on the computer I sync the iPad with. The app does not show up in "Purchased" either in iTunes on the computer or in the App Store on the iPad.

It's a minor annoyance, but an annoyance nonetheless. I would like to avoid restoring from backup if possible. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks in advance. The screen shot is below:

Re: Unable to download software updates for iPad

I am posting this here, because it is a newer thread than I previous responded to, and I have also seen this question/problem.

If you have an original iPad, and you haven't upgraded for awhile, say you still are running some flavor of iOS4. WHen I synch up the iPad to the newest version of iTunes on my computer, it wants to download and install iOS6, which isn't supported. Hence the download/install fails.

How do you tell it to download an earlier version, like iOS5 instead. Or can you?
