I have an iPad 1 with version 4.2.1 (8C1480). can i update to the ios 5 or later without a computer. My general settings does not have the option for software updates

I have an iPad 1 with version 4.2.1 (8C1480) can I update to ios 5 or later without usin a computer?  I do not have a software update option in my general settings
