My mom and I share our libraries with each other, and I would like to know how to add some of her tv shows to my library on my computer?
I have a 3rd gen. iPad, an iPhone 4S, and a 17 inch MacBook Pro, all with the latest OS and software. I have library sharing turned on on the MacBook, and an extensive video library of TV shows purchased on iTunes. Some of the episodes, usually from the same season, will not play back on the iPad, and cannot be listed on the iPhone. All of the files are located in sub folders under the same "iTunes Library" folder. They all have the same .m4v file extension. I cannot see a pattern that might help me figure this out, so I am asking for help.
In the videos app on my iPad, when I click on the shared library tile under the 'Shared' button, the library loads until the indicator gets halfway, and then it just stops. However, in my iPhone (4, iOS 6), the library loads almost immediately. The library is also available on my appleTV.
I've tried quitting the apps involved (iPad Videos app, iTunes on the computer), and restarting both the iPad and iMac.
This problem is intermittent. It was working fine last week, although this has happened twice before, and I cannot figure out what resolved it.
What gives?
I've been using Home Sharing for all of my iOS devices for a whole now. In the last few days it suddenly stopped working. I don't see the 'Shared' tab on any of my devices anymore. I've re-started my devices, signed out of home sharing then signed in again, and still nothing. What can I o to fix this?
Does anyone know where the 'shared by name', shown when photo streams are shared, is generated from. My wife and I have ipads, we have different apple accounts but when we share photos the 'shared by name' for both is the same.

I don't load my music on my iPhone or iPad so I save space. I use home share to play my music in my house. Recently (since the last iTunes update), the music app on my iPhone and iPad only display 2 artists and not any others. My whole library is shared on my iMac and I am not sure why it is doing this.

I'm really excited about the shared photo stream function introduced in iOS 6 but have to say Apple made it very confusing. On my iPhone, it seems simple enough with the exception that I haven't been able to figure out how to select multiple pictures and share them at once using Photos. It seems to only let you do one at a time which could be pain because the subscribers will receive a notification with each new upload. I don't see the option at all to create a new personal photostream in either iPhoto for my iPhone or iPad even though you can select mutliple photos using that app. Does it exist yet or can you only view, not create or edit photo streams in iPhoto?
Also, in the Photos app for iPad, it's much easier to upload multiple photos to a photo stream however, I don't see anywhere to add people to a photo stream. Where is the equvilent screen on the iPad to the blue arrow "Edit Photo Stream" screen in the iPhone version of Photos? There must be some way to add and remove people, make a photo stream public or share links or delete the stream all together on the iPad. I have to say, I'm really amazed at how poorly this has been implemented. For a cool function to be so confusing and different across applications and devices is very un-Apple like.
Can anyone shed any light on how this is supposed to work on the iPad and in iPhoto for both devices?
Thanks!!
I have a 1st gen iPad (ipad1) running iOS 5.1.1
Ipad1 is connected to iTunes 11.0.1.12 on my windows 32 bit laptop (laptop1) using my Apple ID (ID1)
I have just bought a new iPad retina (ipad2) running iOS 6.0.1 for my partner
Ipad2 is connected to ITunes 11.0.1.12 on my partners' windows 32 bit laptop (laptop2) using his Apple ID (ID2)
We want to share content, including apps, books, films and music so we tried to set up home sharing over our wireless Internet home network
We have authorised ID1 and ID2 on both laptop1 and laptop2
We have set up home sharing using ID2 on both laptop1 and laptop2
Both laptops have the firewalls switched off
But we still cannot see each other's libraries on iTunes on laptop1 and laptop2
We have tried rebooting, shutting down and reopening iTunes, turning home sharing off and on etc. but still cannot get it to work and it is driving us mad. Many posts suggested this was a problem with iTunes 11 so we even tried reverting to iTunes 10.3.1 and still could not see each others libraries.
Could someone please help!
