Unusual (?) charging problem with iPad 3...
This week, I picked up a refurbished 32GB iPad 3 (refurbished by the reseller, not by Apple). It's mostly working fine, but I'm encountering an odd charging issue...
When attempting to charge it with the wall adapter provided by the reseller (a standard Apple 10W power adapter, which I believe is what came standard with the iPad 3, though I'm not certain of that), it says, "Not Charging". I've tried it with different cables, with another Apple 10W adapter I have, in different power outlets, and even tried charging it by plugging into a computer USB port. Same result in all cases: Not Charging.
Weirdly though, if I use the old 5W power adapter that came with my original iPhone, that works fine! Has anyone else ever heard of such a thing, or have any ideas about what this might signify? I only consider this a temporary workaround, because I don't want to permanently rely on one nearly-six-year-old power adapter that I think may have technically been recalled or discontinued due to safety issues... I'd much rather it work normally with its intended adapter. Thanks!

iPad is not charging???
from one moment to another the iPad of my 8year old isn't charging anymore??
This morning got the message "battery 10%" so I've connected it to the charger and left to do my thing. When checking one hour later the battery is completely drained and I've tried for the past 2 hours to recharge the battery with no luck.
The charger definately is working, I've checked it with my iPhone, so that's not the issue.
Who can help me or had any idea as to what to do since I can't even start the iPad at this moment, eventhough it's connected to the electricity (so no option as to use it while connected to the net)
It's an iPad 1 that we bought from someone else and for the past 3 months no problems at all. At regulare basis charged to 100% and used it to 0% to keep the battery alive. No heat, no sunshine, no water, so al these possible causes are not an option.

Re: Unusual (?) charging problem with iPad 3...
Sounds like a defective charger. Contact the reseller.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

iPad mini not charging
My iPad mini won't charge at all. I tried the wall adapter that came with it, the adapter for my iPhone, and a couple others I had around the house. Is anyone else having this problem??

iPads don't work when charging? How long does it take for your iPad to charge to 100 percent?
Your charging question can't be answered unless you tell us what model iPad - iPad 1, 2, 3, 4 or mini - you have.
An iPad 1 or 2 will charge in 3-4 hours. An iPad 4 in 7-8 hours.
? Cheers, Tom
