Sync issues

Ok, I don't know if it is the new OS on my iPhone and iPad or if this is the result of the new iTunes I installed but I'm having consistent problems with syncing my library now. My iPhone now constantly spends well over 20 minutes on the 'waiting for changes to be applied' step of syncing regardless of if there is only one song that needs to be copied. Also once the sync is complete it's a crapshoot as to whether or not the new items actually sync to the device, and half the time items that were already synced are now screwed up and either have to be downloaded again or another sync has to be conducted. Additionally my itunes doesn't automatically sync my purchases anymore so if I purchase something using the iTunes store on my device I have to go manually download it to my computer. This is a pain and is making it difficult to ensure I have my files digitally backed up. I'm not willing to put all of my backup in the cloud, particularly for my contacts so that's really not an option. Again, not sure what the issue is but all these functions were fine until I 'upgraded' to this new software and now all of a sudden I have nothing but problems. Apple you need to fix this stuff, and fix it quick. I am becoming one very unsatisfied customer. Meantime can anyone recommend a solution to this issue?

How do I delete back issues of the Sunday Times from my iPad?

In my Sports Illustrated app, there is a settings type button in the upper right that looks like a gear, I tap that icon and get the option to Remove Issues fro iPad. I tap that option and then all of the issues that are on the device appear on the screen. I tap on the ones that I want to delete to select them and then tap Remove in the upper right.

I don't know if that is of any help. Each app is probably a bit different.

iMessage issues between iPhone, iPad and Mac

2 questions both imessage related.

So I amended my telephone number through my apple and happily use iMessage on my iPhone 5.  I have recently bought an iMac and have tried to sign in with my apple ID, which worked however when I message nfrom the mac it shows my email address.  Under preferences it does not give me the option to set it to show my mobile number - can you tell me how to do this?

Secondly my iPad was previously set to an old number and I don't know how to change it - can you help me with this too please?

Thank you

Sue

Mirroring issues without Internet

I have a kit for keynote presentations containing an Apple TV and a wireless router so that I have a network independent of any outside networks.

The trouble is when using mirroring the appletv resets about every 10-15 min probably due to no Internet connection and it is also trying to set the date and time. Although while I'm writing this I'm wondering if it just shuts off due to inactivity like going to sleep. Ill have to check on that.

Can anyone confirm if what I'm trying to do is possible without Internet connection but still be stable for an hour of mirroring Time.

Specs wifi: linksys 750 with an Ethernet to Apple TV

Ipad 2 on 5ghz mirroring

Keynote file is usually about 250mb in size but is used over an hour timespan.

Hotmail issues for Ipad mini

We have been having problems connecting to hotmail and they have been experiencing server issues . They now say this is fixed yet after several reboots , reinstalls and checking set up had intermittment service. I searched the internet and found this guys instructions in you tube to set up email as Other account.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqGohK7JW9o

I did this and it works well , unfortunately the saved folders and sent mail did not come through.

Important note for outgoing server step his step where he changes port from 587 to 995 , set straight to 25, incoming server is good. Also the incoming server on Ipad mini is easily visible, to go to outgoing server just click on smtp.live .com in mail setup and you have to put your email and password in again

I sent some mail and all OK.

Keep your hotmail account alive as this will still sync your contacts and calendar etc as it appears only mail is the problem.

So you will now have 2 email accounts , when you name this one just change name to Ipad hotmail or similar.

maybe one day hotmail will work properly, but for now at least you can get and send mail.

How can I download my issues with Reader's Digest when each time a pop appears and reads " the item you tried to buy is no longer available"?

I can no longer download my purchased Reader's Digest magazine since August as it requires updating the RD app. So when i try to download the RD app a pop up appears and reads " the item you tried to buy is no longer available". What does this mean and what do I do? I have 2 pending reader's digest issues that needs to be downloaded.

I have an iPad mini.

Sound is fine through the speakers, however I have issues through the headphone jack.

I still get keyboard clicks and lock and unlock clicks, so I know the headphones and the socket are working fine, however there is no other sound coming through.

I have rebooted several times and updated the latest software etc.

Apple iPad 6.1.2 10B147 - Active Sync Issues Remain

Hi,

Please correct me ASAP if I am posting this in the wrong area of the discussion forum.

I have a batch of Apple iPad devices that are now connecting to our Exchange 2003 system using Apple iPad iOS 6.1.2 10B147 devices. It would seem that these devices may have the 6.1 Active Sync issue again even though this version was meant to fix the issue.

A couple of users have reported this morning reoccuring calender cancellations, we have also had excessive log growth on Exchange 2007 platform.

Here is the reported "Device Agent" from Active Sync logs:

Here is the reported Device iOS

Does anyone know if Apple has this as a reported bug yet on their fixed version? If not is there an official Apple bug submission process that should be followed?

Regards

Ben Paddick

Intermittent Wifi issues with iPad 2 and WiFi

Greetings Community,

I recently purchased the iPad 2 16GB WiFi only device. One thing I noticed, the WiFi will only work for a short while, then completely stop. I have to disable and enable the wireless to get it working again. Anyone else having this issue? Any resolution? iOS version is 4.3.

Thanks.

Saumil.

Anyone still having IOS 6 wifi issues?

I'm currently waiting on Apple support to call me back about this issue, but I thought I would reach out here to see if anyone else is having similar issues.

I upgraded to IOS 6 yesterday afternoon, and immediately after I could no longer connect to the Wifi at my place of employment.  Everyone had this issue, no big deal.

Went home, Wifi worked fine.

Came into work this morning and I am still unable to connect. I have tried all of the various recommended fixes, and even gone so far as to do a complete restore.   I work at a university with multiple networks and access points and have tried connecting to several, both secure and unsecure, with no luck.

This is what happens:

Unsecure Networks: Attempt to connect, wheel spins, Error Message: "Unable to Connect"

Secure Network: Attempt to connect, prompted for password, enter password, Error Message: "Incorrect Password"  (Yes I entered the correct password, I tried multiple times, and the IT tech was able to connect to it with his iPad 2 running IOS 5)

I am also not the only one, everyone on campus who has upgraded their iPad 3 to IOS 6 is unable to connect. (All staff/factulty have iPads, most have upgraded)

I have spoken with the IT department and they are baffled, they have tried rebooting various routers and access points to no avail.

Obviously there is something different happening in IOS 6 that is causing these issues.  My question is has anyone else encoutered this issue, and if so what have you done to fix it?

I have seen people above who have upgraded firmware on their personal wireless routers with success, but for a university with literally hundress of access points and routers this is out of the question, at least in the short term.
