Why can't Apple TV's and iOS devices see home sharing on my Windows 7 computer when iTunes libraries on other computers on the same network and connected to the same Home Sharing can?

I have never previously had any problems with Home Sharing, I have always found it to be completely reliable as advertised. I have 2 computers in the house, (one MacBook and one Windows Desktop) connected to the same Home Sharing account, connected to the same BT Home Hub 4. My situation is that I have nearly 2TB of data of which I would like to share with the home wirelessly, in my mind the desktop is the logical place for this to be shared from.

When running, iTunes on this desktop broadcasts to other iTunes libraries, but no other iOS devices or Apple TV's connected to the same Home Sharing account cannot see it.

I have tried turning Home Sharing off, and then turning it back on, closing iTunes, restarting the computer, going to Network and Sharing Centre and unticking IPv6 in the network adapter properties, even completely wiping the computer and reinstalling Windows 7.

One of the Apple TV's in the house was recently purchased by my parents with the promise from me that everything would work seamlessly... so far it isn't and I am frustrated that the Apple technology that I have come to rely on isn't working as expected.

One thing that has occurred to me upon writing this is that it is a very large amount of data, and I have not attempted to share this with another computer that is currently working and broadcasting it's Home Share fine.

I am sorry if I have ommitted any important details, any further questions don't hesitate to ask. I would be so grateful of any suggestions, my parents are depending on me.

Importing photos from my computer, running windows, to iPad Air is extremely slow!

Hey guys,

I am syncing about 30 GB of photos and videos from my computer to my iPad using the latest version of iTunes (just updated today).

It's not my first time syncing my photo library. I've done it on my iPad 2, iPad 3 and even the iPhone 4S and this has been by far the slowest: almost two hours and I am not even half-way through.

Has anyone else had this problem? Sure, I mean recently... I have seen many other discussions on the issue.

Thanks in advance

Re: Is there an easy to understand way to sync photos from an iPad to a laptop running windows?

You are asking this question

"Is there an easy to understand way to sync photos from an iPad to a laptop running Windows?"

You do not sync photos from the iPad to a computer - you import them to the computer. It really doesn't get an easier to understand than what is explained in this kb article.

iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from ... - Support - Apple

If you are asking about syncing photos from the computer to the iPad, that is something different. I do not have Photo Manager Pro but I do have another Wireless Transfer app and it could not be easier to use. I suspect that there is something missing from your description of what you are trying to do.

Individual syncing on iTunes on a Windows computer.

Hello,

I have an iPod touch, an iPhone 5, and an iPad. ITunes on my windows laptop is set-up to sync all my devices the same way right now (transferring music, movies, etc..) to all the devices but I don't want that. I want my iPad to not be synced with music. But I want my iPod touch to sync with music and I only want certain songs to be synced to my iPhone. Is there any way for me to individualize the syncing for each of these 3 devices on my computer? If so, how do I set that up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Itunes (on Windows 7) just deleted my entire library of music, apps and playlists

I'm Running the latest version of Itunes on Windows 7. Itunes deleted every single song, playlist and app entirely for the 2nd time this month. Is there any way to easily restore the library? Without re-importing each and every song, downloading every single app, re-creating every playlist manually, re-subscribing to every podcast, etc....?

Issue loading iTunes on Windows PC and iPad

At work we are staring to have an issue getting iTunes on PC's and on the iPad's to work again. We do use Websense to filter internet traffic and had to add some configuration to the Websense Secure Gateway to tunnel traffic under the filter. That was a couple years ago and after finding the URL's that needed to be tunneled then iTunes loaded the app store correctly on the PC version of iTunes and on the iPad’s. However we are starting to have an issue again. In iTunes 10.6 for Windows the app store pages do not load correctly. They are not formatted right like you would see stuff listed on a webpage that did not load a CSS file to display the layout. Also it will do this on the iPad running iOS 6.0. If I update iTunes on a Windows system from the version 10.6.0.40 that had to version 11.0.2.26 the pages in the app store do not load at all (I only get a blank white page in the store). Also a few users have updated their iPad to iOS 6.1.3 and they also get just a blank white page on the iPad’s that have been updated. So I take it that Apple has made some changes between these versions, can anyone let me know what changes may have been made so I can figure out what changes I may need to make? Did they change the URL's that the new version use? Did they change some SSL/TLS configuration?  If I run the Diagnostics in iTunes on my Windows PC I do get this at the end.

Transfer Excel & Word docs from Windows PC to iPad2?

Hi, I'm an age pensioner running a PC on Windows environment and have an iPad 2. My query is the easiest solution to transfer some Word and Excel files from my PC to my iPad, and which are the best apps (preferably free/low cost) to read and edit the documents in. I have already loaded Office Plus, and  iSpredsheet but need to know which are the best apps to allow me to read, edit & save as well as creat new doc.

Also I guess it would be nice to be able to re-import those docs back to by desktop. I do not have a budget to buy a new PC.

Many thanks for all advice offered.

iTunes slow start up on Windows 8 x64

So i have a Dell Inspiron n5010 with itunes 11 installed. While some may say my laptop is a "low budget" system, i have actually upgraded it. i have a 500GB 5200rpm SATA HDD, intel i3 duel-core @ 2.4GHz and 8GB of memory (RAM) so i'm pretty confident that it is not my system being this slow. As a matter a fact, my mom has the Dell Studio running Windows 7 x82 with only 4GB memory (but 1.9GB usable because some idot installed 32bit verion of Windows 7) and some intel core duo processor (she bought it about a year or two after the release of Windows Vista, but before Windows 7 was released) and it opens iTunes 11 immedatly, even upon boot, no wait time which is spectacular considering that her computer runs everything else really slow. Meanwhile, my Inspiron takes over a minute and half to load iTunes, even if my laptop has been siting doing nothing prior to atempting to open iTunes. and then once it has been loading, iTunes runs slow.. Takes forever to download music/apps, sync, transfer music into the libarary.. it wont even sync album covers. None of this started until i updated to iTunes 11.

How can i fix this so it doesn't happen anymore?
