I lost my iPad yesterday and found it this morning (yay!). In the meantime, I had set the 'Play a Sound' and 'Lock' functions. Upon starting the iPad this morning, it did indeed play the sound and force me to use the unlock code.
I then checked the email notifications. As expected, the emails were sent at the time I first opened the iPad. But they tell me the actions taken happened hours before. Specifically, I first found and opened the iPad cover around 0630 this morning but the emails say the ipad was locked and the sound played at 0347. That's not possible.
I thought I might have something set wrong on my iPad so checked the current time. It was correct-- about 0630. As I was doing so, I noticed under General / Usage that the "Time Since Last Full Charge" was 3 hours and 54 minutes, i.e., suspiciously close to the 0347 time stamp in the emails.
I then used my laptop and iCloud to 'Play a Sound' again. The time in the subsequent email ("A sound was played at 3:56 AM") was the same as the 'Time Since Last Full Charge' ("Three Hours, 56 Minutes").
I couldn't find anything on this with searches in the Apple Support Community or the Web but then again there's lots of stuff to wade through.
Any ideas why this might be happening? Seems like a bug but I'd think there would be other reports of it.
I'm on an iPad2 MC764LL/A, iOS 6.1 (10B141).
