What apple device are you using? The older the device the slower all apps will run. It could also be a variety of other issues such as: a slow Internet connection, the App Store is receiving a lot of incoming traffic, or you just need to reset the firmware. To reset the firmware, hold down the home and power/lock button at the same time until the screen shuts off. Wait a minute and then turn it back on. One other possible solution is to delete the app from multitasking. To do this, double tap the home button until a row of apps appears at the bottom of the screen. After finding the App Store app in that row (scrolling if necessary), tap and hold it until it shakes and a small red bubble with an x on it appears in the top left corner of the app. Press that x; it should disappear. Now press the home button (the apps should stop shaking) and press it again (the row of apps should disappear). If all of this doesn't work, restore your device or contact apple customer service.
