Hi, tried to download Amazon, asked to update my security, push continue..screen goes white then error message saying' cannot connect to app store' but I'm already on it!

hi, I'm a novice..be gentle! Tried to download Amazon Free... Asked to update my security I pushed OK...screen went white, then an error message saying ' Cannot connect to App Store', however I am already on it! Pls help!!
